St Peter

Thank you Rev Nancy for leading a St Peter's Day assembly in school today. 

St Peter and St Paul's Day is observed every year on June 29th. The event is the date that honours these two martyrs of the Christian faith. Although the church acknowledges they may not have been executed at the same time, both met death at the command of the Roman Emperor Nero.

Peter requested to be crucified with his head facing down. As Paul was a Roman citizen he could not be crucified, and was therefore beheaded.
